Full title of the project: “ A knowledge base for integrating patient-specific pathways for individualized treatment decisions in clinical applications” – idsem-004

The aim of the project is to come up with a computational platform that can be used by medical doctors for making optimal use of high-throughput data for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the framework of the call i:DSem – Integrative data semantics for systems medicine.

Funding period: 01.03.2016-28.02.2019

Connecting Vocabularies

In order to infer disease-specific information, disease-relevant information is distributed into multiple resources. Entities among these resources can share the same concept but with their own identifiers.

Linking relevant entities together, can be done by comparing their labels, synonyms and hierarchical relations. Mapping tables were generated and provided to the project, either from external resources or from applying some mapping methodologies.
